The aesthetic of the details
Last week we began looking at the first of the four macro-trends for the Spring/Summer 2027 collections to emerge from the Buyer’s Guide presented at the latest MICAM Next. Our focus was on materials (see the dedicated “Vintage Sea” article (link)). The watchwords include precise silhouettes, controlled sensuality and nautical codes with a disciplined, elegant and emotionally composed look. Riding the wave of these ideas, today we explore the details to focus on next season in the world of footwear.
Focus on the details
When it comes to details, the stars of the sea-inspired theme in footwear are macramé structures (+61%) or outright nautical “ropes” (+15%). Among the most elegant touches, mother-of-pearl details (+34%), shells and pearls stand out, while the pairing of mother-of-pearl with rustic materials or washed fabrics is also growing strongly. Expect a big comeback for canvas shoes, from espadrilles to sneakers, where a raw-edge (+26%) finish becomes a distinctive detail.

Next Thursday, we move on to the second macro-trend, with its decidedly colourful touch.
