The timeless and seasonal rubber boot

Fashion has cleared it through customs making it a cool model: the rubber boot has now become part of women’s wardrobe, accomplice not only and no longer the need for use in the rain, but especially its everyday versatility even when the sun is shining. A basic therefore to have in the closet and no matter if black or colored, transparent, printed or logoed, ankle-length, knee-length or beyond (how can we forget the fisherman’s one on the Chanel runway!), to wear even with formal outfits, and celebrities on social constantly prove it. After all, it was Lady Diana who brought it into the spotlight back in 1981 (she loved the Hunter boot) and later it was seen on the feet of many fashion icons, around cities or at the world’s most famous usica festivals, such as Glastonbury. And, of course, it could not be missed from season to season on designer runways, taken to the extreme for fall-winter 24/25 by Rick Owens’ inflatable model.

In light of the trans-seasonality of the rubber boot, it is inevitable, then, that companies will introduce it into their collections and new brands, which use cutting-edge technologies for production, will emerge. At MICAM in February, in fact, the IZSEL brand, created in 2023 in Hong Kong, made its debut, choosing the Milan event as its launch platform. Commercial manager David Breviglieri explains. “IZSEL was created as a completely waterproof product but with a stylish and elegant look. It is a high-quality pvc boot with a tpu sole characterized by a design that ensures excellent grip and resistance in wet conditions. The collection focuses mainly on two items: the “classic” boot declined in six colors starting with the basic ones of black and beige, and the “crystal” line in four colors with a transparent bootleg, initially produced in shades of red and black.”
